Lady Bird Johnson Park gets its namesake from the former First Lady of the United States of America. She was known for her many contributions including the Highway Beautification Act which included planting and conserving native plants along roadways. A nod to this can be seen at the Park’s fencing which includes wildflower designs. Located in the park is the Lou Hamilton Community Center, named after the first woman American Softball Association Commissioner, who dedicated her life to recreation in San Antonio and Texas. The center offers several sports and recreation activities and more. Lady Bird Johnson Park features several sports and recreation opportunities and connects to the Howard W.
