Welcome, we're glad you're here!

Welcome to the Town’s online engagement hub for the EAB Data Center Study. This initiative will evaluate how data centers may fit within the community and result in clear policy direction and recommendations for future regulations. Throughout the process, this site will serve as your central resource for project updates, key milestones, engagement opportunities, draft materials, and final recommendations.

As technology infrastructure continues to expand nationwide, communities like ours are increasingly being asked to accommodate data center development. These facilities can bring economic investment and support digital connectivity, but they also raise important considerations related to land use, infrastructure capacity, energy demand, environmental impacts, and compatibility with surrounding development. This study will help the Town proactively plan for these uses, while ensuring that any future policies balance innovation with community character and long-term sustainability.

Looking ahead, the EAB Data Center Study will provide guidance to Town leaders, staff, and stakeholders on where and how data centers may be appropriate, what standards should apply, and how to manage potential impacts. The goal is to create a thoughtful, predictable framework that supports informed decision-making.

The Planning Process

The subcommittee is anticipated to conclude in spring of 2027, and community input will play a critical role every step of the way. We encourage you to stay involved throughout the process. Visit the "Schedule and Meetings", and "Stay Informed” sections for upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities and check the “Documents & Materials” section for updates as the study progresses. You can also subscribe to receive notifications about new information and ways to participate.

Your input will help shape how the Town plans for this emerging and evolving land use.
