We’re evaluating access points, intersections and signage to create a seamless experience across the city’s active transportation network. Share your input and help guide the design!

Help Shape the Future of Wayfinding on Austin's Urban Trails

As Austin's Urban Trails network grows, the City of Austin is developing a wayfinding program to make trails easier to navigate and better connect people to nearby destinations, transit, and other trail networks.

The project team is evaluating trail access points, intersections, signage, and transit connections to create a seamless experience across Austin's active transportation network.

About Urban Trails

Austin's Urban Trails are paved, multi-use paths for walking, biking, and rolling that connect neighborhoods with parks, schools, transit, and other destinations. Since the 2014 Urban Trails Plan, the network has grown to approximately 68 miles. Learn more in the 2023 Urban Trails Plan.

What is Wayfinding?

Wayfinding is the system of signs, maps, markers, and other tools that help people navigate trails, find destinations, and choose the best route. Good wayfinding helps people navigate with confidence and creates a more welcoming, enjoyable experience for everyone.
