THE PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD has been EXTENDED to JULY 17, 2024 to align with the end of the CEQA public review period--CEQA documents can be found under the "DOCUMENTS" Section!
After a year and a half of community engagement the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan is ready for your input!

Some key actions to acheive the Cornerstone measure (pp. 26-28) are:

Some key actions to achieve the Building Energy measures (pp. 29-41) are:
- Adoption of a single margin source energy code/more stringent ordinance to avoid new gas infrastructure
- Electrification infrastructure and capacity feasibility study
- Building decarbonization workforce development
- Increased account enrollment in MCE's Deep Green option
- Adoption of a reach code requiring central A/C installation be a two-way cooling and heating unit
- Virtual all-electric building resource center creation
- Barriers and financing options assessment

Some key actions to achieve the Transportation measures (pp. 42-56) are:
- Continued development of the City's Active Transportation Plan
- Expansion of existing rebate programs for active transportation modes and gear
- E-bike rental program pilot
- Optimization of public transit routes and transit route times
- Improvement of bus shelters
- Adoption of an ordinance to require a transportation demand management plan of all employers with 25+ employees
- Adoption of EV reach codes for commercial and multi-family EV charging infrastructure

- Education of high organic generation commercial accounts
- Establishment of neighborhood swap meets through Resource Recovery Day
- Increased food and prepared meals recovery to food banks

- Creation of a Terracycle collections program for unconvential recycable materials
