State Wildlife Action Plan Revision Due December 2025
State Wildlife Action Plan Revision Due December 2025
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is revising the Washington State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP), which is a conservation plan for fish, wildlife, plants, and the habitats they depend on.
This revision is due to US Fish and Wildlife Service in December 2025. This project group includes three (3) participation opportunities:
- Summer 2024 meetings and survey for scoping
- April - May 2025 meetings and materials, with comment option and
- final Fall 2025 survey with review of the draft plan (open right now).
The draft plan comment opportunity is available mid-October up to November 17, 2025.
Access the DRAFT documents here and the survey link below (click "Participate" button). Both the documents link and the survey link are also available on the WDFW SWAP webpage.
The SWAP outlines important biodiversity conservation actions related to the WDFW Strategic Plan, to recover and sustain fish and wildlife, and develop conservation partnerships. For more than 20 years, SWAPs across the nation have framed conservation priorities for states, guided funding and spending, and communicated conservation needs. For this revision, WDFW is providing several webinars for Tribes, agencies, conservation organizations, the public, and the WDFW Commission.
