Downtown and Riverfront Vision Plan
This is a guiding document for the re-development and revitalization of the Phenix City Downtown and Riverfront completed in 2022 by Orchestra Partners.
The City engaged Orchestra Partners, out of Birmingham, Alabama, to guide us in preparing a Vision Plan for our Downtown and Riverfront areas. The plan was complete in September of 2022 and the implementation is already in progress. The plan focused these main points:
- Urban design
- Walkability
- Connectivity to the river
- Reimagining the road network and grid pattern
- Gathering places and greenspaces
- Entertainment areas
- Alternative transportation
- Increased density
