Apollo Beach Boulevard Traffic Safety Study – Second Engagement
Apollo Beach Boulevard Traffic Safety Study – Second Engagement
Welcome to the second public engagement opportunity for the Apollo Beach Boulevard Traffic Safety Study. Your responses will help Hillsborough County gain insight into the community’s desire for possible transportation improvements for the corridor. This virtual public engagement will be open from Aug. 5 through Aug. 19, 2025, and a 2nd Open House is Aug. 12, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Apollo Beach Elementary School, 501 Apollo Beach Blvd., Apollo Beach, FL 33572.
The Apollo Beach Boulevard Traffic Safety Study will evaluate proposed sidewalk improvements, pedestrian safety for mid-block crossings, and consideration for bicyclists and golf carts such as lane reconfiguration. The study will assess improvements identified in previous studies, including filling sidewalk gaps and repurposing one through-lane in each direction for multimodal travel, parking, or other purposes. In response to community requests for safety and mobility improvements, the project will also examine the addition of left-turn lanes at the Fairway Boulevard/Manila Palm Way intersection and other potential solutions to congestion concerns.
