Millville Area Community Transportation Plan

Millville Area Community Transportation Plan

DelDOT is currently in the preliminary stages of data collection and assessment to support the Millville Area through the provision of a coordinated multimodal transportation plan.

The Millville area lacks a coordinated transportation strategy to address existing infrastructure gaps, safety concerns, developmental impacts, and growing travel demand. As development and tourism to the area continues to increase, the need to evaluate transportation conditions and identify prioritized improvements is ever growing.

The purpose of this project is to:

  • Identify existing infrastructure gaps.
  • Evaluate potential multimodal development strategies to address existing gaps.
  • Provide a coordinated framework for improving pedestrian and bicycle transportation facilities.
  • Modernize existing infrastructure to enhance safety, accessibility, and compliance with current ADA requirements.
  • Support continued growth and address transportation concerns identified by local stakeholders and residents of the community.

Survey Purpose and Overview

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), in partnership with JMT, is conducting the Millville Area Community Transportation Plan to identify transportation needs, safety concerns, and opportunities to improve walking, bicycling, and accessibility throughout the study area. The study focuses on SR 26 (Atlantic Avenue), Old Mill Road, Clubhouse Road, Irons Lane, and connections to key community destinations.

This survey will help the project team understand existing conditions and identify priorities for improving mobility, safety, accessibility, and connectivity along these corridors and throughout the community.
