Mine Creek Trail Improvement Project
Mine Creek Trail Improvement Project
The City of Raleigh is planning to upgrade a section of the Mine Creek Greenway Trail, located between mile markers 1.25 and 1.50, on the west side of Shelley Road.
Proposed improvements include the removal of two existing wooden trail bridges (structures #32 and #33, which were constructed in the early 1980s) and the realignment of the existing trail to the northwest side of Mine Creek, utilizing an existing cleared sewer easement. This project is being coordinated with a Raleigh Water project, which includes sewer improvements along this section of Mine Creek.
An Open House meeting is being held on November 30, 2023, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sertoma Arts Center (1400 W. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh), to update the community on the project design.
