What is a Mobility Hub?
A mobility hub is a welcoming community space that connects public and private transportation options like bus stops, bike share, scooter parking, seating, shade, public art and more. These hubs will make it easier to switch between different ways of traveling.
The hubs are designed to reduce traffic during big construction projects and support Austin’s mobility goals, like more public transit, shared rides and active travel like walking or biking.
What does your dream Mobility Hub look like?
Mobility Hubs can be more than just places to catch a ride. They can be fun and engaging places like a small plaza where people relax, enjoy public art and celebrate local history.
Imagine your dream Mobility Hub. What services or features would make it easier or more comfortable to get to or wait for the bus? Maybe you’d like more shade, seating, food trucks or public art.

Background
The City of Austin and its partners received a $47.9 million grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to build mobility hubs.
Austin Transportation and Public Works Department (ATPW) is leading the project and will manage and operate the hubs once they’re built.
Current Status
The Mobility Hubs are still in the planning stage. ATPW staff, along with regional partners, are working on plans for 10 hubs to open in 2026. We’d love your input to help shape the Mobility Hubs in your neighborhood.
