Collins Park Virtual Meeting Notice August 6

UPDATED CONCEPT

(downloadable version available at the bottom of the page)

Updated plan for Collins Park showing renovated playground, shelter, tennis, added pickleball.

Park and Recreation staff discovered that the storm drain pipe (shown in red hatch) from Collinswood Drive to Applegate Road is broken, which we believe is creating some of the drainage issues in portions of the park. We determined that we will replace the storm pipe in place, which will require removal and replacement of the current playground. This work will also require full closure of the park.

The final plan shows the replacement of the broken storm drain (shown in the red hatch). The playground and shelter will be replaced. The tennis court will be improved. Pickleball will be added. New benches and trash cans throughout.

The replacement of the storm pipe will require the full closure of the park. We anticipate starting construction Winter 2026/2027. Construction will take 6-9 months, provided we have favorable weather and don't encounter any unforeseen issues.
