County Budget for FY26
How we spend our tax dollars should reflect our community’s priorities. County Executive Jessica Fitzwater is preparing Fiscal Year 2026's operating and capital budgets based on input from our community. She held a public hearing December 4 to start the conversation. In january, she will host a series of town hall-style meetings, one in each Council district. Another public hearing will be held in March. Executive Fitzwater's proposed budget will be released no later than April 15.
Town Hall Schedule:
- Monday, January 13, 7 p.m. (District 2) – Twin Ridge Elementary School cafeteria, 1106 Leafy Hollow Circle, Mount Airy
- Wednesday, January 22, 7 p.m. (District 4) - Oakdale Middle School cafeteria, 5810 Oakdale School Road, New Market
- Saturday, January 25, 1 p.m. (District 5) – Walkersville Middle School cafeteria, 55 West Frederick Street, Walkersville
- Monday, January 27, 7 p.m. (District 3) – Waverley Elementary School cafeteria, 201 Waverley Drive, Frederick
- Thursday, January 30, 7 p.m. (District 1) – Middletown Library community room (will be streamed live), 31 East Green Street, Middletown
