Feedback for VHC Health Wellness & Behavioral Health Facility - April 20-30, 2026
Feedback for VHC Health Wellness & Behavioral Health Facility - April 20-30, 2026
Arlington County has received a site plan proposal from VHC Health for a 146-bed mental health facility. A use permit to operate a medical facility on the property has also been submitted. These applications will be reviewed concurrently.
Arlington County welcomes VHC Health’s investment in expanded rehabilitation and behavioral health services in Arlington County. However, any use of the property by VHC Health for the construction of a new behavioral health care and rehabilitation facility is contingent upon:
- obtaining approval of all necessary special exception site plans and use permits from the Arlington County Board; and
- additional building permit applications and review by various County staff.
The application is now on the Active Site Plan list and the project's public review process will commence. The proposed site plan project will undergo public review via a Site Plan Review Process. This public process involves a comprehensive review of the proposal against established County plans and policies, as well as broad public engagement with the community.
