The safety improvement project at the intersection of Stone Oak Pkwy and Evans Rd continues to make great progress. Below are the current traffic details, ongoing activities, and an important update regarding upcoming night work.
Upcoming Overnight Work (Starting Thursday, November 5)
Starting as early as Thursday, November 5, 2026, crews will begin installing temporary traffic signals and poles at all four corners of the intersection of Stone Oak Pkwy and Evans Rd to facilitate turn lane construction.
- Timeline: This work will be conducted via multiple overnight operations, starting Thursday night and concluding by the end of the weekend.
- Traffic Impacts: Expect rolling temporary lane closures as crews work across the intersection.
- Safety: Police officers will be stationed on-site to direct traffic. All directions of traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the night work.
Current Traffic & Sidewalk Restrictions
The following daytime restrictions remain in place to maintain a safe work zone:
- Eastbound Evans Rd: The right-turn lane onto Stone Oak Pkwy remains closed and converted into a work zone.
- Southbound Stone Oak Pkwy: The lane remains partially closed immediately after you make the right turn from Evans Rd.
- Southbound Canyon Golf Rd: The middle lane remains partially closed approaching Stone Oak Pkwy.
- Sidewalk Closure: The sidewalk adjacent to the eastbound Evans Rd right-turn lane remains closed to pedestrians.
- Two-way traffic is maintained through the intersection at all times, and all local businesses remain fully open and accessible.
Note: All work is subject to change and to favorable weather conditions.
