Albemarle Cultural Trail Survey
Albemarle Cultural Trail Survey
The City of Charlotte Corridors of Opportunity program focuses on public and private investment along the Albemarle/Central corridor. Ongoing engagement, captured in the Albemarle corridor playbook, prioritizes identifying opportunities for investments in connectivity, family and youth community spaces, and job anchors. The Albemarle Cultural Trail concept seeks to build safe and accessible connections for pedestrians and cyclists along and across the corridor. The potential project could be made up of a range of enhanced sidewalk, marked crossings, greenway connections and more that have the same branding and signage to create one experience for residents. The Corridors program is developing a Framework Plan to advance the project by:
- Establishing a shared vision for the project with the community;
- Developing branding and wayfinding with the community;
- Incorporating cultural themes into the project; and
- Developing a framework plan for the project.
The draft potential route and study area of the project is shown in the map below. Through initial community engagement efforts, the project team identified both the strengths and desires of the community to develop ideas for a branding package for the project. Additionally, the team is seeking feedback on the project name: Albemarle Cultural Trail. Through the questions below, we would like to hear additional community feedback regarding the specific elements of the project's branding to ensure the community's identity and the project are appropriately depicted.
