Oxford Reconstruction

Oxford Reconstruction

In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. Construction will begin in March 2 and is expected to be complete at the end of August 2026.

About the project

Oxford Street (Norwich to Godfrey)

Construction is expected to start March 2 depending on the weather.

This is a reconstruction project.

Contractors will:

  • Reconstruction the street, including the bridge.
  • Replace all sidewalks.
  • Install a shared use path on the north side of Oxford.
  • Plant new street trees.
  • Make minor improvements to the storm sewer system.

The Godfrey and Oxford intersection is expected to close for 4 weeks. The detour uses Hall, Century, Logan, Cesar Chavez, and Market.
