Project Information and Map
The existing bridge is nearly 80 years old and is experiencing numerous issues. This project involves the replacement of an existing 699’ x 26’ bridge with a new 777’ x 40’ bridge on Iowa 175 over the Des Moines River. The new bridge will be larger to prevent flooding issues and meet current standards.
Iowa 175 will be closed to traffic at the project site during construction. The official detour route is required to use roads that are similar to the route being closed. The proposed detour route utilizes County Roads P70, E18 and R27.
