Prioritize people over cars. This means wider sidewalks, reducing all roads to no more than 1 car lane in each direction, dedicated bus lanes, protected bike lanes, more paths/trails, and more transit access. Eliminate parking minimums. Reduce parking to encourage pedestrian, bik...See More

We need a large Asian grocery store like H-Mart as the lack of access to metro accessible Asian groceries is a huge problem for DC residents.

Agreed. If the city plans to add thousands of people to the neighborhood there needs to be more grocery access.

I would love if providing housing to unhoused individuals was part of this plan instead of the city’s default of just displacing people to different areas of the city

Being our neighbors keepers is the hallmark of an integrous city. I agree that housing is critical. I want to be part of a city where we don't leave our most vulnerable and disenfranchised behind.

The holiday market is always packed and shows that people will restore the neighborhood, not parking for cars

All of these ideas are so exciting!! Especially the Gallery Square & Walk and 7th Street Spine. The more car-free spaces we can create, the better. Also, please make sure we include housing, resources, and support for our unhoused and hungry neighbors in any and all plans.

Pete RodrigueOne of the speakers who gave the presentation mentioned examples from London (e.g. Covent Garden). I just got back from a trip to London yesterday, and one thing that immediately struck me coming back to DC is how insanely wide our roads are. Like, no wonder people drive 40 mph d...See More

The Assumption that if the City builds it, they will come. This theory may not be appropriate unless you view the Downtown Area as a huge commercial center where you expect visitors to come and spend their dollars. Empty storefronts did not materialized because they were occupied...See More
