The State of Recycling
The State of Recycling
Change is coming! The City's recycling contract with Tidewater Fibre (TFC Recycling) will expire on June 30, 2024. City Leadership is seeking the community's input on their preference with respect to how we manage our recycling program. The feedback will inform a policy decision and assist the City Manager in determining the funding allocation for recycling in the proposed FY24-25 budget.
The City's recycling contract with TFC Recycling (Tidewater Fibre Corp) ends on June 30, 2024. We have options moving forward regarding how we manage recycling in Virginia Beach.
Over the course of the next few months, this project site will inform the community about the current state of recycling, identify the available options moving forward, and capture input and comments via a survey. Additional information will be added to the project page throughout September.
This community engagement initiative will run from August 28 through Nov. 17 and consists of an education phase (now through Sept. 29) and a survey phase (Oct. 2 through Nov. 17).
Please view the project tabs for more information. Subscribe to the project below to receive email updates.
Questions can be sent to recycling@PublicInput.com and may be selected to be included in the Questions and Answers section. Please review the Q&As on this site before submitting a question, as it may be answered there.
We ask that you please save your comments on recycling for now; you will have an opportunity to provide them in the survey where they can be included with the survey data.
