Boarding Call: Buncombe Looking for Diverse Voices to Make a Difference on Boards & Commissions
Looking for a way to bring your unique voice to local government? Buncombe County wants your expertise to help diversify and grow perspectives on our various boards and commissions. From working with the environment to helping oversee development, there are nearly 50 different boards and commissions that could use your point of view to help their vision.
Buncombe County is dedicated to seeking out and promoting voices of diversity. Our Equity & Human Rights Office is intentional about its work promoting the 2025 Strategic Plan goal of increasing equity. We understand you might be thinking nearly half-a-hundred boards and commissions seems overwhelming, but we’re here to help. In fact, you can join us for some upcoming events where you can learn more about your areas of interest and talk with County staff and current board members. Additionally, representatives from Human Resources and Election Services will be on-hand to discuss job openings and volunteer opportunities.
If this sounds like something you or someone you know would be interested in, please consider joining us at one of our upcoming boards and commission fairs or look online at our current vacancies. We look forward to having your voice represented as we strive increase representatives from all walks of life and corners of Buncombe County.
