Welcome to the Pack Square Plaza Visioning Engagement Hub - We're Glad You're Here!

Information gathered on this hub- as well as through events scheduled for July 28 and July 29, and comment heard at community meetings- will be used by the City and the County to better understand the communty's interest and or concerns regarding the draft Pack Square Plaza Vision Plan- a guidebook for a more equitable, accessible and inclusive space in the heart of Asheville's downtown. The study area includes the public space between Biltmore Avenue and Market Street downtown, including the site where the Vance Monument was previously located. The final vision document also suggest ways to make a better physical and mental connection between this area and The Block neighborhood just next door, which has a past, present, and future inextricably linked to that of Pack Square Plaza and downtown Asheville.

You can find more background and information about the Pack Square Visioning Project here.

It’s a nice idea but now is not the time. And it shouldn’t be focused on creating more racial division. Take the race based narratives put of it. You are alienating potential supporters.

It's a nice dream, but we have more important things to think about and spend our money on. Just let Pack Square sit like the Pit of Despair has sat for 10 years.

Fix what needs to be fixed, and then when that's done, you can use your money on amenities and aesthetic impr...See More

Considering the lack of arts-driven philanthropic groups, I think you're going to have a really hard time executing this.
