What is the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) program?
Chatham County, Georgia is submitting an application for a funding opportunity from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) called the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) program. This program is offering $85 million to communities across the country through competitive grants. Public Comment for Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing Grant at Commission Meeting
Chatham County, Georgia, is considering applying to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO HOUSING) grant program. If awarded, funds will be used to identify and confront affordable housing barriers to primarily benefit low- and
moderate-income persons.
The activities for which these funds may be used include researching barriers to affordable housing, developing a county-wide affordable housing plan, conducting public engagement, and plan implementation activities. More specific details regarding the application, eligible activities, estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low- and moderate-income persons, and the HUD rating system can be reviewed at chathamcountyga.gov until October 28, 2023. Hard copies will be available at the County Administrative Building (124 Bull Street) for the same time.
