FORTAG California Avenue Segment
This segment of the Fort Ord Regional Trail & Greenway stretches 1.4 miles, running north-south along California Avenue from Patton Parkway in the City of Marina to 8th Street and east-west through open space from California Avenue and 8th Street to Imjin Road west of Imjin Parkway.
There will be additional improvements, such as an at-grade crossing to connect the trail to a new roundabout at the intersection of Imjin Parkway and Imjin Road as part of the Imjin Parkway Widening and Roundabout Project. There will also be new connections to other trails to be constructed: the FORTAG Jerry Smith Trailhead Segment leading to Fort Ord National Monument and a segment leading to the existing Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail.
This $10.6M project is funded with a $8.4M grant from the State Active Transportation Program Cycle 6 and $2.2M from Measure X funds.
