South Prong Clarke Creek
South Prong Clarke Creek
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will be facilitating restoration efforts on the reach of South Prong Clarke Creek between Roosevelt Drive and Monocacy Boulevard. This project aims to stabilize elements of the creek as well as reduce the amount of sediment pollution impacting the creek. Sediment is the number one pollutant found in Mecklenburg County's waterways.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation will be contributing approximately two miles of greenway along this reach, as well.
While planning and construction are in process, there will be a series of public information meetings. Once we have those dates, we will post them on this project site. We aim to host our first meeting in Fall 2026.
You can access the South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway site for more information: South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway.
Additional information regarding the South Prong Clarke Creek Restoration project is below, as well as an opportunity for your input. As we progress through the planning and development stages, please check back for updates! We look forward to staying connected during these projects!
