Irwin and Stewart Creek Greenway Planning Study

Irwin and Stewart Creek Greenway Planning Study

The Irwin/Stewart Creek corridor between Billy Graham Parkway and Nevin Road is an important link in Mecklenburg County’s Greenway Master Plan. Stretching approximately 11.3 miles it connects neighborhoods in West Charlotte to Uptown, key employment centers and numerous park facilities. While several sections of the system exist today, there are many gaps that must be filled to realize a fully connected system. This study breaks the corridor into eight segments to examine constraints and opportunities to determine the feasibility of making these connections. The study recommends preferred alignments and alternative alignments for several of the segments. Note that these trail segments are not currently funded for construction. Download the maps below in the documents section.
