Project Need

The Pinon Trunk Sewer Capacity Phase 2 project will benefit present and future community needs. This project, once completed, will provide and maintain a level of public infrastructure facilities and services community by  increasing the amount of sewer collection into our system benefitting the health and safety of our community.  It is the City goal to continue to make capital improvements to the wastewater collection and treatment system to maintain system capability and reliability.

 

Project Goals

The Pinon Trunk Sewer Capacity Phase 2 project seeks to achieve the following goals:

  • Provide  increased level of adequate services to the community.
  • Provide dependable wastewater collection service to the community.

History, Status, Or Impact if Delayed

On October 4, 2022, City staff released an RFP for preliminary engineering design services for phase 1 of the Pinon project described in the City’s recently adopted Sanitary Sewer Master Plan. On January 18, 2023, a one‐year contract was executed with West Valley Construction Company, Inc. for the work. 

Project Funding

This project is currently supported and funded by the City Sewer Enterprise Fund and Growth Impact Fees. City Sewer Enterprise Fund is collected through yearly Pinole sewer taxes, while Growth Impact Fees are colleted through building impact fees from new development within the City.
