Lakeline Boulevard Expansion
Lakeline Boulevard Expansion
The City of Austin is planning to expand Lakeline Boulevard from Lakeline Station (Lyndhurst Street/Staked Planes Drive) to Parmer Lane to improve safety and mobility for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
About the Project
Welcome
The City of Austin, with support from the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), is expanding the roadway of Lakeline Boulevard from Lyndhurst Street/Staked Plains Drive to Parmer Lane. The project will result in two-lane traffic in each direction to provide better mobility for motorists reaching local destinations, as well as the introduction of new sidewalks and bicycle lanes to tie into existing pedestrian infrastructure and provide options for alternative modes of travel. These improvements will provide additional connectivity to the residents and commuters of the area and an increase in safety and efficiency for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.
Project Highlights
- Expand Lakeline Boulevard to four lanes with median and dedicated left-turn lanes
- Continuous sidewalk on the south side for better pedestrian access
- Raised bike lanes for safer cycling by placing cyclists behind the curb
- Traffic signal upgrades
- Storm sewer upgrades
- Rain gardens to improve water quality
- Tree placement where possible
- Railroad crossing upgrades (in coordination with CapMetro)
Funding Sources
- CAMPO Surface Transportation Block Grant
