The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is planning for the initial phase (Phase A) of the LYNX Silver Line light rail program from Center City Charlotte to the Town of Matthews. It would require a vehicle maintenance facility (VMF) or facilities for delivery, testing, storage, and maintenance of light rail vehicles. CATS has screened more than 15 sites between Center City Charlotte and the Town of Matthews and is currently conducting a Title VI equity analysis on three potential sites that came out of the initial screening.

Following this outreach, CATS intends to recommend the desired site(s) for detailed impact evaluation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).  Your feedback will help inform the Title VI equity analysis and site selection. Please join the live virtual public meeting or listen to the recorded presentation on CATS YouTube before completing the following survey by June 6, 2023.

The map below displays each of the three potential VMF sites.
