Camp Ernst Improvements Overview

Boone County has several projects planned to improve the section of Camp Ernst Road from Pleasant Valley to Hathaway. Each project aims to:

  • Improve safety of the traveling public.
  • Ease congestion along the road and in the area.
  • Minimize impact to property owners.
  • Protect and preserve green space.

Currently, there are three projects - all in very different stages. These include:

  • Reconstruction of the entire corridor (from Pleasant Valley to Hathway) that will improve safety and travel times. (Planning is underway. A public meeting will be held in the summer to better understand residents' priorities and goals for the roadway improvement.)
  • A new roundabout at Longbranch to improve safety and ease congestion. (Construction will begin this month (May).)
  • Several safety improvements along the roadway. (Improvements will be made at different times throughout 2026.)
