Faircloth Street Active Mobility Improvements
Faircloth Street Active Mobility Improvements
Faircloth Street between Hillsborough Street and Wade Avenue has been identified to receive upgrades to the existing bike lanes through the 2016 BikeRaleigh Plan and 2025 Active Mobility Plan.
The existing bike lanes are being upgraded to a protected cycle-track on the west side of Faircloth Street. These upgrades provide more protection for active mobility users, such as cyclists and scooters, as well as increased connectivity to the House Creek, Reedy Creek and Rocky Branch Greenway Trails.
Faircloth Street Improvements and changes will include:
- Two-way cycle track will be installed on the west side of Faircloth Street.
- Vertical separation between the cycle track and vehicular travel lanes will be installed.
- Existing vehicular travel lanes and the center turn lane will be maintained.
- Parking restrictions will be implemented along the east side of Faircloth Street.
- Markings and signage updates to alert all road users of the changes.
