The Strategic Investment Areas (SIA) Program will enhance accessibility and safety for residents and travelers in the Arrowood Community. Our vision is to provide safe and equitable mobility options for all through a connected, sustainable and innovative network. The City of Charlotte is focused on areas with the greatest impact, delivering projects with speed and purpose. This program is a key part of our mission to deliver high-impact mobility projects.
The Arrowood SIA is situated in the vibrant southwest community of Charlotte. This area boasts a diverse collection of neighborhoods, parks, greenways, and activity centers. It is well-served by transit routes and park-and-ride facilities, making it a convenient and accessible location for residents and visitors alike.
The improvements in the Arrowood SIA will enhance comfort and accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users. Both residents and visitors will benefit from better connections to transit services, sidewalks, and bicycle facilities, making it easier and more convenient to navigate the area.
Key Investments Include:
- 715 feet of street lighting
- 0.8 miles of bike facilities
- 770 feet of planted street trees
- 4 intersection and pedestrian improvements
- 1,760 feet of new sidewalks and shared-use paths
- Two ADA Corridor Improvements
- Five signalized pedestrian crossings
- Four bus stop/mobility hub improvements

The City of Charlotte is pleased to make it easier and more convenient for residents to navigate the Arrowood Road area. Join us to celebrate the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) sidewalk upgrades from Arrowood Station Drive to Sweden Road. Enjoy light refreshments after a short program.
This event is part of the City of Charlotte's Strategic Investment Area (SIA) Pilot Program, which includes a $55M capital bond investment program to implement neighborhood improvements.
