Far East Harrisburg SIA

Far East - Harrisburg Strategic Investment Area

Welcome to the Far East - Harrisburg SIA construction information page. This is your source for the latest information on what is being built, how it may affect your travel, and how long the work will last.

As Charlotte grows, the city is investing in safer, smoother ways to move through this corridor. Multiple projects underway will add wide sidewalks, new signalized pedestrian crossings, and intersection improvements, giving the community more ways to get around the area, regardless of their mode of transportation.

While construction is occurring, you may notice temporary changes to your usual routes, including shoulder and lane closures, and traffic shifts. Much of the work happens off the roadway, and some takes place at night to reduce daytime disruption.

We know this can be inconvenient, and we are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Below, you will find each work location along the corridor. Check back often, as this page is updated as the projects move forward.
