In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. The Stevens Street project is funded by Vital Streets. Construction will begin in July and is expected to be complete in September 2026.
About the project
Stevens Street (Steele to Randolph)
Construction is expected to start July 6, 2026.
This is a reconstruction project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:
Driveway approaches and sidewalks
Water
Parkways and street trees
Storm sewer
