Watauga Street Neighborhood Bikeway

The Engagement and Design Meeting is the second step in a three-step process for streets to recieve neighborhood bikeway improvements through the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program. Watauga Street between Oakwood Avenue and N. Boundary Street has been identified for a neighborhood bikeway by the City of Raleigh's 10-Year Priority Project List in the 2016 Bike Raleigh Plan. Project Identification

Watauga Street was identified on the 2016 BikeRaleigh Plan's Ten Year Priority list for implementation of neighborhood bikeways.

Watauga Street is a key connection between the existing neighborhood bikeways on Brookside Drive and N. Boundary Street, and into existing bike lanes on N. Person Street and Oakwood Avenue.

Engagement and Design

The BikeRaleigh Plan reccomends neighborhood bikeways for Watauga Street. Due to existing street characteristics, shared lane markings, or "sharrows", and wayfinding signange are proposed as part of this project.

Construction Outreach - Final Survey

A notice of the construction timeline and project impacts will be sent to residents of the street and its surrounding neighborhood (2 blocks back from project street). 

This project was adopted in the 2016 BikeRaleigh Plan and will be delivered through the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Program.
