Survey Purpose
The City would like your help determining the need for a park within your Council District. If you don’t support the creation of a park, we would like to know which project(s) should receive funding within your Council District.
Project Background
The New Park at Nopal Street & South Gevers Street project was approved by voters, and funded with an $800,000 budget, as part of the 2022 Bond Program. The Bond Program defines the project’s purpose as facilitating the development and construction of two new parks along Nopal and South Gevers Streets.
The current scope of the project has evolved to focus on creating a new park at the northeast corner of South Gevers and Channing Streets (See Figure 1). The park’s intent is to provide the community with a neighborhood walking trail (1/4 mile), seating areas, new trees, upgraded fencing, and permanent irrigation (See Figure 2).
