Five Points Transportation Study
Five Points Transportation Study
The Five Points Transportation Study (the Study) has been a joint effort, developed by DelDOT and Sussex County, to examine potential improvements to the area around the Five Points intersection near Lewes.
- Phase I of the study began in December 2017, The Five Points Working Group, which was composed of elected officials, DelDOT and Sussex County representatives, as well as residents and business representatives, developed recommendations to improve local traffic circulation at Five Points and in the surrounding area. Phase I was completed in the fall of 2018.
- Phase II began in Spring 2019 to further the Implementation Plan with Working Group support and involvement. Phase II of the Study continues to implement recommendations to reduce congestion and improve capacity on Route 1 by developing and executing studies and projects based on the Working Group’s 78 recommendations.
