What you need to know:
- Beginning as early as Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the contractor will switch sidewalk work to the southeast and southwest corners of E. Cesar Chavez Blvd. and S. Alamo St. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Cesar Chavez.
- Left turn southbound traffic lanes at intersection of Commerce & South Alamo is closed due to construction at the intersection. Traffic is being detoured from Commerce to S. Presa to Market Street. One northbound traffic lane will be open from Market Street onto South Alamo.
- Reconstruction work continues on South Alamo (Market Street to Cesar Chavez)
- Eastside sidewalks opened from Nueva to Cesar Chavez, and closed from Market to Nueva
- Westside sidewalks opened from Market to Nueva, and closed from Nueva to Cesar Chavez
- Nueva will have no eastbound right turn onto South Alamo due to construction at this intersection.

- Nighttime concrete pours on South Alamo continues in December 2025 and January 2026 as needed
- South Alamo continues to have a single southbound traffic lane open
- Cesar Chavez traffic lanes are open
