GTC/GFLRPC - Transportation Listening Sessions
GTC/GFLRPC - Transportation Listening Sessions
The objective of holding Transportation Listening Sessions is for Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council and Genesee Transportation Council to make a deliberate effort to engage people across the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region and seek input about transportation-related needs with an emphasis on economic and transit-related development.
Both regional agencies will incorporate input received through the series of listening sessions into current planning programs.
Genesee Transportation Council is updating the Long Range Transportation Plan for the Genesee-Finger Lake Region 2050 (LRTP 2050) analyzing health and safety; access and equity; system management and maintenance; sustainability and resilience; and economic development. The sessions will help spread awareness and seek feedback on issues and opportunities facing the region concerning the transportation system.
Genesee Transportation Council is developing the next Long Range Transportation Plan for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region. The Plan will inform transportation decision making about transportation system investments over the next 25 years. Participating in these Listening Sessions is one opportunity for you to provide your thoughts on transportation facilities and services in the region. The results will be used to help identify transportation priorities and needs that will be incorporated into the Plan.
GTC and GFLRPC will be hosting multiple sessions throughout the 9-county region. The format will be a mixture of in-person meetings and virtual meetings allowing people to watch/listen and participate via a computer or mobile device, or by calling in to a toll-free phone number to listen and participate.
If you or your organization/agency would like to schedule a time for a separate, individual session, please contact Tyler Carey at GFLRPC or Lori Maher at GTC.

Genesee Transportation Council is developing the next Long Range Transportation Plan. The LRTP provides the strategic direction for more detailed planning and implementation of specific transportation projects, programs, and services in the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region over the next 25 years. The listening sessions conducted through this effort will serve as the majority of the first round of public and stakeholder engagement for the LRTP. The sessions will help spread awareness and seek feedback on issues and opportunities facing the region concerning the transportation system. G/FLRPC has many unique partnerships throughout the region and GTC hopes to leverage these partnerships for a more robust and extensive public involvement process.
