Proposed Road Diet for Huntington Avenue
Proposed Road Diet for Huntington Avenue
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) proposes to reconfigure Huntington Avenue in the Mount Vernon District. Here is what that would look like:
- Repurpose two of the four lanes of vehicle traffic between Richmond Highway and Telegraph Road with buffered bike lanes
- Add a center turn lane between Farrington Avenue and Hunting Creek Road
The benefits of road diets include safety improvements, traffic calming, and better mobility access for all road users. Feedback via this survey will be accepted through Friday, Oct. 25.
