West Park Dog Park Improvements
Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation is making improvements to the dog park, access drive, parking lot, and stormwater drainage system at West Park. This engagement is from Tuesday, Oct. 6 to Monday, Oct. 19, 2026.
The project is expected to take approximately six to eight months to complete and will include:
a paved parking lot with additional parking spaces
new restrooms near the dog park and playground
renovations to the dog park pavilions
upgraded dog park amenities and fencing
a new stormwater pond
ADA accessibility improvements.
The new stormwater pond will be located near the baseball field, in the northern section of the dog park (see rendering). This location was selected to minimize impacts to the dog park’s size and to preserve existing tree canopy.
