This request would amend existing zoning conditions to require 10% of units in a residential or mixed-use development to be dedicated as affordable housing. Existing conditions require a minimum of 20 units, so the proposed change would require a percentage of affordable units in future development instead of a minimum of 20 units. The request would also provide the option for the property owner to make a payment equal to $40,000 multiplied by a number equal to 10% of the total dwelling units in a future development instead of dedicating units in the building.
