Clarks Creek Greenway Trail
Clarks Creek Greenway Trail is closed between Colvard Park Way St Audrey Place due to structural bridge damage from a fallen tree. Updates will be posted to this page.
February 2025 Update: A structural assessment has been completed to determine that the existing bridge abutments can be used for the replacement bridge. Bridge fabrication should take a minimum of 16 weeks and additional time is needed to hire a contractor to assemble and install the bridge. MCPR's goal is to reopen the bridge in Fall of 2025, pending fabrication and/or construction delays.
Johnston Road Parking Lot
McAlpine and Four Mile Creek Greenway Trails
The parking lot at 11823 Johnston Road Charlotte, NC 28277 that serves McAlpine Creek and Four Mile Creek Greenway trails will have intermittent closures due to greenway trail construction. More information about the McAlpine Creek Greenway Trail extension project can be found at: www.PublicInput.com/51toJ
LC Coleman Park
LC Coleman Park is closed for renovations from March 3, 2025 - Late 2025. The LC Coleman Park renovation will include a new playground, picnic shelter, accessible paths, and a woodland trail system connecting the park to the adjacent neighborhood. Additional improvements were made to the tennis court on Estelle Street. More info: www.publicinput.com/LCColeman
Little Sugar Creek Greenway (Morehead to East)
As part of the Atrium Health campus improvements, Atrium will be reconstructing the section of trail between Morehead and East Blvd. In addition to replacing the greenway trail, Atrium is also working with Charlotte Water on an interceptor sewer line (which must be installed before the trail can be constructed). Greenway construction completion is anticipated for March 2025, though that could change pending weather or other unanticipated delays. The greenway trail will be much improved with a 12’ wide trail and angled bridges rather than 90 degree turns. More information: https://www.publicinput.com/LittleSugarAtrium
Little Sugar Creek Greenway (Midtown)
Due to adjacent development, there will be scaffolding over the greenway trail for approximately 2 years, which will require a bicycle dismount zone. A trail detour will remain in place during the construction. Intermittent closures may occur during construction if necessary for user safety.
