Feedback for Crystal City Block W - February 6-16
Block W is located at 2451 Crystal Drive in the Crystal City neighborhood. The site is bounded by the mixed-use office building, Crystal Park 5, on the north, the CSX railway on the east, the Airport Access Road on the south, and Crystal Drive on the west. The subject site is currently undeveloped and consists of open space with recreational amenities and surface parking uses.
The applicant, JBG Smith, has submitted applications for the following requests:
- Rezoning from C-O-1.5 to C-O Crystal City
- New Crystal City Block Plan for Block W
- Site Plan Amendment to remove site area from SP #167
- New Site Plan (SP #475) to construct a 7-story mixed-use building with 370 units, 3,360 sq. ft. of ground floor retail, and 200 parking spaces. The development proposal will help facilitate implementation of an area of open space identified as Crystal Park, as called for in the Crystal City Sector Plan.

- Is the proposed building massing, including podium and tower orientation, appropriate?
- Does the proposed design achieve the Crystal City Sector Plan guidance for a coordinated frontage on the northern façade and an architectural feature on the southern façade?
