We developed this site in an effort to provide more access and opportunity for the public to engage in cases that affect their communities. About the Historic Preservation Commission
The Commission has 7 members appointed by the County Council. The Commission reviews structures and sites for historic significance and submits recommendations to the County Council for designation of these sites to the Frederick County Register of Historic Places. The HPC also reviews applications for Certificates of Approval for exterior work on properties listed on the County Register of Historic Places.
The Historic Preservation Commission meets virtually monthly on the first Wednesday at 6:30pm. Cases Open for Public Comment
We want to know what you value as historic and where you think historic preservation should focus. Based on community feedback, the Advisory Group has drafted a Vision Statement, Goals and Initiatives for the plan. Please take 5 minutes of your time to review the draft goals and initiatives and provide your feedback as well as let the County know what historic sites in Frederick County you wish was more well-known.
