Southern Station Area Planning Options and Concepts Survey
Southern Station Area Planning Options and Concepts Survey
Project background
Station area planning is the process of planning for future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations. It involves planning for where people will walk and bike to transit and how the areas around BRT stations can grow to support healthy, affordable, and equitable neighborhoods.
Southern BRT Station Area Planning is a process that is separate from the design of the Southern BRT stations and bus lanes. It is a community planning process for areas within a short walk of the BRT stations, but not for the bus route itself. The Southern BRT runs from downtown Raleigh to Garner along S. Wilmington Street. For more information about the project, including a map, full open house boards, and webinar presentation, visit the Station Area Planning: Southern webpage.
Instructions
Each of the tabs above present an illustrative concept for each area around the future Bus Rapid Transit stations along S. Wilmington Street. These show the types of development that could happen in the future. Concepts also include public spaces and open spaces, and for new sidewalks, upgraded street crossings for pedestrians, and investments in cycling routes and trails.
Please review each station area and share your thoughts, or only review the station area that you are most interested in providing comments on.
