Washington Street & Baynard Blvd Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements Concept Development
Washington Street & Baynard Blvd Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements Concept Development
Over the past two years, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has partnered with the Jefferson Street Center, The City of Wilmington, Healthy Communities Delaware, Urban Bike Project, and the University of Delaware to explore options relating to safety along Baynard Blvd. This work resulted in a temporary pop-up demonstration which included two travel lanes, a protected bike lane, and a full-time parking lane along the Blvd from 18th Street to Concord Avenue. As a continuation of this work and improvement of the corridor the Department of Transportation is exploring potential improvements at the Baynard Blvd/Concord Avenue Intersection as well as extending pedestrian safety improvements to 9th Street in Downtown Wilmington. The Delaware Department of Transportation will continue to collect community feedback on the reconfiguration of Baynard Blvd and the extended safety improvements along the corridor. Below is a quick survey to gather community feedback. This survey should take no more than five minutes.
On Tuesday, August 8, DelDOT held a Public Workshop at the YMCA and presented draft concept designs for the Washington Street/Baynard Boulevard Corridor. The presentation is available for your review here. The concept designs can be viewed here. Once you've taken a look, please take the survey to provide your feedback.
