Project Overview 

The Nolensville All-Access Corridor is a major transportation investment included in Nashville's voter-approved Choose How You Move program. The corridor will improve safety, accessibility, transit reliability, and multimodal connections between Downtown Nashville and South Nashville while supporting the communities, businesses, and destinations that make Nolensville Pike one of the city's most important corridors.

 Nolensville Pike is often called Nashville's "international corridor" because of its rich culture and concentration of locally owned businesses that serve as important social, economic, and community hubs. The corridor connects neighborhoods, transit riders, workers, students, and visitors to destinations throughout South Nashville.

The study area generally extends between Downtown Nashville and South Nashville and will evaluate connections to major destinations, activity centers, neighborhoods, transit facilities, and future mobility investments. The exact corridor alignment and future recommendations will be refined through the planning process. 

Why Nolensville Pike?

Nolensville Pike has been identified as a priority corridor for safety improvements. The corridor is also home to one of Nashville's busiest transit routes. Route 52 Nolensville Pike currently provides a 10-minute peak service and carries more than 2,800 riders per day. Ridership has exceeded pre-pandemic levels and continues to grow.

The corridor: 

• Part of Nashville's Vision Zero High Injury Network 
• Identified as a high-risk corridor by TDOT 
• Contains some of Davidson County's most dangerous intersections for pedestrians and roadway users 
• Experiences transit reliability challenges due to congestion 
• Includes gaps in pedestrian infrastructure 
• Faces growing demand for safer and more reliable transportation options 
• Has a high transit demand

Corridor Planning 

Planning and design activities are underway for the Nolensville All-Access Corridor. Community engagement opportunities and project updates will be posted here as they become available. 

Future Corridor Vision 

The Nolensville Pike All-Access Corridor will evaluate transportation improvements that help people move safely and efficiently regardless of how they travel. Potential improvements may include: 

• More reliable transit service 
• Modernized traffic signals 
• Safer pedestrian crossings 
• Improved sidewalks and accessibility 
• Enhanced intersections 
• Transit priority treatments 
• Connections to neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and destinations

Final recommendations will be developed through technical analysis, community input, and agency collaboration.

How will it help Nashville residents?

Across south and southeast Nashville, residents will experience:

• Faster, safer trips to places you already go like Geodis Park, the Zoo, the Fairgrounds, parks, the library, and other local restaurants and businesses along Nolensville Pike. 
• Less time stuck in traffic with two park-and-ride locations, so you can skip rush hour driving. 
• Easier bus trips with two new transit centers, including one downtown and one at Harding Place, designed to be more comfortable and convenient. 
• Frequent buses, so you don’t have to plan your day around a schedule – just show up and ride.
• Safer streets for you and your family, with targeted safety upgrades throughout the corridor, including at three of Nashville’s most frequent crash locations in the county
