Fiscal Year 2027 City of Charlotte Budget Engagement Survey
Fiscal Year 2027 City of Charlotte Budget Engagement Survey
Charlotte’s annual budget funds city services, advances City Council’s Strategic Priorities and supports continued growth. It includes operating costs, infrastructure and strategic investments that serve one million residents, millions of visitors and commuters, and more than 50,000 local businesses.
Why does your participation matter? Each year, City Council adopts a balanced budget through a public process that considers community input, financial needs and long-term plans such as the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan. Your feedback is shared with City Council to help shape future budget decisions.
In fiscal year 2026, participants prioritized transportation, housing and neighborhood services, public safety, and environmental sustainability. The adopted $3.65 billion FY 2026 budget reflects these priorities through corresponding increased investments in these areas and enhancements supporting Animal Care & Control and youth programs.
