Background

In 2019, a Sun City Center Mobility Study was completed with an emphasis on infrastructure and safety improvements. Recommended safety improvements on Cypress Village Boulevard included a shared and dedicated golf cart lane, a midblock pedestrian crosswalk, and milling and resurfacing the outside lanes. The County transformed the boulevard from a road with four motor vehicle lanes to a two-lane road with two lanes for golf carts. Other safety improvements along Cypress Village Boulevard included the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) ramps, additional signage, a high-emphasis golf cart crossing, white vertical plastic delineators, and new pavement markings.

Based on the mobility study, a virtual survey was completed in September 2022. In March 2023, an in-person meeting was held to gather further input from the community, along with a virtual component enabling residents to participate online.

This current virtual engagement is to gather feedback from the community on improvements to-date and overall safety along Cypress Village Boulevard, and seek to input regarding additional safety features.
