Welcome to the public engagement opportunity for the 131st Avenue Improvements from Nebraska Avenue to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Your responses will help Hillsborough County gain insight into the community’s desire for speed management and improved transportation safety. This virtual public engagement will be open from Jan. 27 through Feb. 10, 2026. An in-person engagement will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at Victor Crist Community Center (14013 N. 22nd St., Tampa, FL 33613).
About the Project
The East 131st Avenue Improvements will evaluate potential improvements along East 131st Avenue from Nebraska Avenue to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. These potential improvements include pedestrian features, access management, and raised crosswalks and intersections. They will help reduce traffic congestion and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists, as well as provide better accommodation for buses.
The following improvements have been proposed along 131st Avenue.
